    3. Hi Dolores, Bad news! I'm from Altoona, PA, but I've lived in the suburbs of Atlanta, GA, for 20+ years, and get up to central PA about once a year if I'm lucky. I'm just the volunteer Mifflin county coordinator, and maintain that site and the Mifflin Archives pages for those who wish to add files. Why not submit a query on the Mifflin RootsWeb board or the PAMIFFLI mailing list? You may find a cousin, or at least a couple of good leads. The Mifflin county researchers are a really good group of folks, and very helpful. I like working with them! Judy P.S. Related to Ken? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dolores Nedimyer" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, August 06, 2006 1:17 PM Subject: [PAHUNTIN] Mitchells Hi Judy, I saw where you were doing work in Mifflin Co also. My great great grandfather was Samuel S Mitchell born 3 June 1810 in PA. and was married to Lydia Ball born 24 Oct. 1817 in Huntingdon Co ., PA. and died in McAlevy's Fort, PA 5 Sept. 1863. They are both buried in Greenlea Cemetery, in Huntingdon Co., along with many other family members.I am not sure where in PA. Samuel was born. I'm looking for his parents, and I'm wondering if he could have been born in Mifflin Co. I know that there were Mitchells from Mifflin Co., who moved to Huntingdon Co. My Samuel was a shoemaker and farmer. There was another Samuel Mitchell married to a Jane. It seems they lived next door to each other, but some things say they were not related, but others have believed that they were related. I don't know. I am looking for Samuel S. Mitchell's parents, and where he was born. Could you check on that for me? I would sure appreciate it. My Samuel had 7 children. My great grandfather was Ja! mes A. Mitchell and he was Samuel's 2nd child. Another brother was Josiah B Mitchell and he stayed in McAlevy's Fort, PA., along with many of his children who had businesses there. George Wm Mitchell had a general store and Clippinger Mitchell had a barber shop for many years. Any help would really be appreciated. 3. Hi Judy, I'm also from Altoona, PA. Small world. My sister Kay Little lives in Acworth, GA., also a suburb of Atlanta. She is also from Altoona and has lived in Acworth for more that 20 years. She has 5 grown children, and they all live in the area. Her on son is a detective with the Cobb Co. Police Dept. My husband was from Altoona also. He died of cancer 3 years ago, so I don't get up there much. I want so much to go again, but I just don't want to drive all that way by myself. Last June I got up there for a week. My next door neighbor went with me as far as Charlestown, MD, and the I drove the rest by myself and picked her up on my way back. I think I'm related to all the Mitchells in PA., because I have Mitchells on both sides of my family and even my husband's father's brother was married to a Mitchell. One of my Mitchel families was from Huntingdon Co., and the other one was from Indiana Co. Both were very large families. You asked if I was related to Ken. I have son Ken Nedimyer, who lives in the FL Keys, but I am related to all the Nedimyers in Altoona, and all that have the name spelled like mine. It was a huge family also, and the original family came from Germany about 1850. The name was spelled a little differently then, but was changed shortly after that. A lot of them lived in Cambria Co., PA. If you knew Dick Nedimyer in Altoona, he is my husband's brother. He still lives there. He was a mailman and played baseball. Everyone in Altoona knew him at one time, I think. There is a Vince Nedimyer that is a teacher and he is a relative also.I think his father was a brother of my husband's father, but I'm not sure. There were 17 children in that family. My great grandfather, George Mitchell fathered 25 children !!!! They lived in Altoona also. Some of my cousins are still there. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Judy Banja" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, August 06, 2006 2:01 PM Subject: Re: [PAHUNTIN] Mitchells > Hi Dolores, > > Bad news!
