I don't have access to Ancestry right now to look at the census report you mentioned to see if the information I have matches ages or dates. Was the Alice Shaffer you are inquiring about listed as a widow on the 1920 census? The ages of her children? If not, this may tie in: John R. Shaffer was married to Alice Wagnor Shaffer. I don't have information about the date of marriage, or Alice's middle name. John Shaffer was a Presbyterian minister from the Shirleysburg area. He is listed as 7 years old on the 1880 census. I know in 1907 he was working as a minister and living with his family in Berwick, PA. My Great Grandmother, who was his niece went to live with them for a short time after her Mother died in 1907. He went back to college (I don't know where) and became a Naturopetic Physician. He and Alice moved to Portland, OR. I have a copy of his advertisement for his practice. I also have a photo of John and Alice Shaffer. My Great Grandmother was Clarissa Wayne Shaffer Snyder. Her Father was William Sheaffer. He spelled his name differently from his brother minister John R. Shaffer. If this connects, I have additional information for the Shaffer family that I would be glad to share. Teresa
