The bio gives him as the son of Samuel Fleming and Harriett Silknitter. In the 1880 census of Burlington Iowa, he is listed as John C. Fleming, age 29, physician, born PA, single. In the 1850 Huntingdon county census, this family is in Barree Twp, and James, father of John C, is a hotelkeeper, born c 1816. I have another John Campbell Fleming, born 15 Dec 1850, Dublin Twp, Huntingdon Co, son of James Fleming and Elizabeth Matilda Wilson. James Fleming (1805-1884) was the son of Robert Fleming (c1777-c1858) and Catherine "Kitty" Campbell who were married 18 Sep 1800 by Rev David Denny in Path Valley. Catherine Campbell was the daughter of William Campbell and Hannah Young of Fannett Twp, Franklin Co. Robert Fleming was the son of James Fleming (b before 1756- d bef 4 Dec 1825 Dublin Twp, Huntingdon Co). The other children of James Fleming (b 1805) and Elizabeth Wilson were: Jane J. 1841, Robert Morton 1843, Anna Catherine and William McGuiness, twins born 1846, Joseph Wilson 1848, James Harper 1849, Hannah Elizabeth and Thomas Elliott, another set of twins born 1852, Rachel Ellen 1855, and Hadessa Mary 1856. Could the two John Campbell Flemings be cousins, both descendents of James Fleming who died c1825?
