Do you have any information on Sarah? Carolyn, yes I do have some information on Sarah Ashman. Sarah was the daughter of George Ashman and Jemima Murray. The given name of George is common in the Ashman family - this George was born 8 Nov 1714 at Ashman's Hope, Gunpowder Neck, Maryland and died after 1763. Jemima was born about 1720; some records show her birth in Edinburgh, Scotland, and others in Maryland. They married 4 Dec 1738. George and Jemima had six children: Colonel George Ashman b. 20 May 1740, died 5 Nov 1811; Josephus; Nancy b. 29 Nov 1747; Elizabeth; Ellen; and Sarah b. 1765. Sarah and Benjamin Elliott had five children: Martha; Mary born 6 May 1781, die 4 May 1757; then Eleanor, Harriett and Mathilda as you mention. Sue Palmer
