He married Catherine Rough, daughter of Henry Rough, (a carpenter), at Woodstock Valley, Pennsylvania. Catherine was born at Woodstock Valley about 1800. There was a son, Abraham (4-119). Abraham, the father, died on 18 May 1830. They had been renting his father’s farm at the time of his death. Catherine later married John AURANDT of Canoe Valley, Blair County. They had two children - Josiah and Rachel, wife of John Carothers. Catherine died April 17, 1862. She was a member of the Reformed Church. 2-4 (1-1) John Graffius l754-1826 John Graffis, fourth child of Nicholas and Anne was born on February 24, 1754 at York. County, Pennsylvania. He was also a member of the American Forces from York County, Pennsylvania. He married Susanna Correll, a younger sister of Nicholas' wife, Elizabeth. (See 2-1) They made their home on Raystown Branch in Lincoln Township, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania. Their children were - John (3-23), Mary (3-24), Daniel (3-25), Jacob (3-26), Abraham (3-27) Elizabeth (3-28), Susanna (3-29), Eve (3-30), Margaret (3-31), William (3-32), Sarah (3-33), and Catherine (3-34). John died January 1, 1826. Susanna's death date is not known. In the Tax List of 1783, York County, PA., John is listed as a waggoner with 4 horses and 6 persons. John and Susanna were married on December 28, 1780. There appears to be a discrepancy in the order of birth between Jacob (3-26) and Abraham (3-27) in this entry (Generation II) and the entries in Generation III where they are entered as Abraham (3-26) and Jacob (3-27). I've been researching ROUGH family for sometime now. There is a connection with GRAY & SHELOW families which is part of my direct line. Benjamin ROUGH m. Catherine GRAY. Catherine GRAY's sister Caroline GRAY m. William MERRITTS Catherine GRAY and William MERRITTS are my direct line. Caroline and William GRAY MERRITTS had a son named Benjamin ROUGH MERRITTS. I've often wondered if there is another connection with ROUGHS other then Catherine GRAY marrying Benjamin ROUGH. I will gladly share what I know. I've also have come across a few church records for ROUGH. AURANDTs married into KELLER family which I know very little only that a KELLER is in the household of Caroline (GRAY) and William MERRITTS in the 1860 Franklin Township, Hundingdon County PA census.
