It was founded in 1766, but the records (except for the marriages) do not start until 1852. For the marriage records go to the Franklin County genweb site at _http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/pa/franklin/church.htm_ (http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/pa/franklin/church.htm) . I am cited on the website as having copies of the early records . I am still working at getting them all into a FTM program to make it easier to share with others. Two of the biggest problems are so many people with the same names, and people who used middle or nick names in the records. There are dozens of 'Mac's in the records, which is usually a middle name and stands for anything from McClelland to McVitty. There are no numbers and no indices to the pages of records, so this is the only way that that I could think of to untangle some of the families. I try to crossmatch each name in the church records with the census and cemetery records, plus the three Franklin County histories, but appreciate help from others that are more knowledgeable about individual families So far I have over 20,000 people in my data base, 99% with at least one item of primary information about them. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ --------- Carolyn, Thank you for your reply and a tremendous thank you from all of us for the effort you are putting forth to make this available to so many. Another question....what is the location of this church?....directions? D. Blackwell
It is on PA Rt 75, just north of Spring Run. There are complete instructions on their site. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, July 28, 2006 9:02 PM Subject: [PAHUNTIN] Upper Path Valley Presbyterian Church > > In a message dated 7/28/2006 7:32:33 PM Eastern Standard Time, [email protected] > writes: > > > > The church is still in existance.
