    3. Hi, I appreciate all this help so very, very much. It has been like looking for a needle in a haystack! My ggrandmother has been very easy to trace from her marriage (and divorce) to her death. But finding anything before her marriage has been next to impossible, until receiving the article from you via this list recently. That was a tremendous help! All the documentation that I have found so far agree perfectly on this information about her: 1. Her given name is Harriet(t). 2. Her middle initial is 'M'. 3. She was born Jan. 1, 1854 in PA. She had a twin sister who was given to a man named John Thompson. The sister's name may have been Juniata or Susquehanna (which might have been changed by Mr. Thompson), who moved west, possibly Iowa, with her. They never saw each other again.] 4. Her obituary says she was born in 'Black Log, Huntingdon' and came to Newport, Perry Co, PA "as a young girl". 5. She married Solomon ZEIGLER/ZIEGLER/ZIGLER [ "Newport News: Newspaper in Perry County, PA September 21, 1872 "MARRIED: ZIEGLER--M'GERVY---On the evening of the 18th at the Reformed parsonage in Newport by the Rev. Jno. Crawford, Mr. Solomon B. Ziegler to Miss Harriet M. M'Gervy, all of Newport"] 6. They were divorced about 1903-05. Solomon had moved to Harrisburg, Dauphin Co, PA before 1900 but she stayed in Newport until 1920 or later. She is in the 1930 census living with her daughter, Rebecca, in Harrisburg. 7. She died Oct 5, 1933 of complications from a fall down the stairs at home in Harrisburg. ["Kell Funeral Home, Newport, Perry County, PA - Harriet M. Zeigler / Date of Funeral: Sun. Oct. 8, 1933 / Where From: Funeral Home Hour: 2PM / Date of Death: Oct 5, 1933 / Place of Death: Hbg. Hosp. Date of Burial: 10-8-33 / Where Interred: Newport / Date of Birth: 1-1-1854 Age: 79 years, 9 months, 4 days / Color; W / Widow / Birth Place: Pa / Husband's Name: Solomon Zeigler / Father's Name: unknown / Country of Birth: unknown / Mother's Name: unknown / Country of Birth: unknown / Cause of Death: Shock from fall / Clergyman: Mehrling / (Expenses) Charged To: C. L. Bair, Adm.] She and Solomon had 8 or 10 children (there may have been a set of twins, one named Mark who died. Date unknown.). Their other children are: Arabella b. 1873 m. John C. Ernest Sadie/Sarah b. abt 1875 m. C. L. Bair Warren B. b abt 1877 m. Ella ? Harry b. Dec 1882 Mary b. July 1883 m. Thomas Strain LLoyd b. April 1886 m. Zella Crimmel (my grandparents) Kathryn b. abt 1893 m. ? Barron Rebecca b. July 1894 m. ? Rowe (Mark and ? - twins.) [All born in Perry Co PA. Most ended up in Dauphin Co.] I have found a few documents on the children but nothing that gives any info about Harriet before her marriage except one---and her maiden name has a big ink blob over it!! I just can't figure out why she doesn't seem to show up in anywhere in the US in TWO census years (1860 and 1870). Is it possible she could have been missed TWICE? I can't thank everyone enough for helping me with this. Elizabeth (I will try to repay with some lookups in Dauphin Co at a later time. We have just moved and I'm unpacking and have some physical difficulties that are making it a slow go right now. But I'm checking email and trying to keep up with that.) ====================================================== --- [email protected] wrote: > > Hi, > D. Blackwell here.
