This data lists Robert Stewart as being married to Catherine Spencer about 1770. It also lists his occupation as "weaver". What is very interesting is that it cites a publication which may hold the key to Robert's ancestry. From Tome F, page 210, of the Stewart Clan Magazine --- The author of DESCENDANTS OF JOEL BAILEY said "There is evidence that Robert and Martha also had a son Robert." This sugests that Robert, weaver, may have been a son of Robert and Martha (Richardson) Stewart and a grandson of Alexander and Mary (Bailey) Stewart. Robert Stewart, husband of Martha (or Mary) Richardson is listed on many pages of the Stewart Clan Magazine, unfortunately I do not have copies of these pages. Alexander Stewart, husband of Mary Bailey is also listed on many pages and I have only one of those pages. This page has Alexander coming to Chester, Pennsylvania in 1697 as an indentured servent and lists his birth as "about 1686, probably in Scotland." I also have the write ups, from the Stewart Clan Magazine on some of Robert and Catherine's children. I have full paragraph write ups on William Stewart/Mary Kerr and on Samuel Stewart/Ann Wilson. There are also basicly one line entries for the following children of Robert and Catherine; John, James, Robert and Andrew. Please contact me at Dlabtle@aol.com if you would like the entry for any of the above named Stewarts. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
