I have been searching for John A. Decker family in Huntingdon, Pa. and have not found any records of great help.? I have only located them in the census of 1870, and 1880 after they?moved to Indiana.? John (b abt 1837 Pa) m Mary S. Lytell b abt 1840 in Pa. (unk date)?and had 8 children b in Huntingdon, Pa. and 2 born after moving from Pennsylvania.? Haven't any idea of parents names.? I am also looking for Decker in Huntingdon. I have a Sarah Ann McCartney, born 24 Jul 1843, West Twp, daughter of John R. McCartney and Temperance Hight, who married W. S. Decker. In the search for the full name of 'W.S.' I have in my notes: 1850 Huntingdon Co, PA Census, West Twp, pg 94. (all in hh born PA) Henry Decker 28 $500 farmer Rebecca 17 Mary 53 $1000 Mary 20 Elizabeth 17 John 13 David 7 I have copied over a dozen Deckers in the 1850 Huntingdon and this is the ONLY John anywhere close to your John A. born 1837.
