Robert T. Byers Sr., 40, of 126 Hartman Village, Mount Union, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2002, at the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. Funeral services were held Jan. 21 at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union. He was born on April 11, 1961, in Cambria County, the son of Mary (Fogle) Hendrix, who survives at her home in Cumming, Ga. Mr. Byers is also survived by his loving companion, Karen S. Leonard, of 126 Hartman Village, and three children: Robert T. Byers Jr. of Huntingdon, Kenneth D. Wagner of RD Mapleton and Angela Wagner of Mount Union. One granddaughter and two brothers, S. John Hendrix of Cumming, Ga., and Andy Hendrix of Jasper, Ga., also survive. Mr. Byers very much enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. He was an avid chess and card player and loved spending time with family.
