Author: gardeneranderson Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.pennsylvania.counties.huntingdon/5715.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: A couple days ago, a gentleman posted that he'd seen information on Rootsweb that George King died "about 1836". There is no no new information, merely that the post on Rootsweb that the gentleman saw (from whenever) is an estimate of the time frame that George King died. By reading the actual recorded legal documents, the date of George King's death can be proven to be actually 1833, not "about 1836" . The Will was written August 5, 1833, so he was alive on that date. The Will was presented at the Court House to be probated on Oct. 19, 1833 by Peter Snyder and Henry Copenhaver, so he was deceased by Oct. 19, 1833. Thus George King died sometime between writing the Will on August 5, 1833 and when the Will was probated on Oct. 19, 1833. There is no actual month and day of death mentioned and recorded in the information by the County Recorder's Office when Peter Snyder and Henry Copenhaver presented the Will for Probate on Oct. 19, 1833, so from that legally recorded information we have no month and day of the death in 1833, but we do have the date of the Probate recording, Oct. 19, 1833. For anyone researching George King and wishing to have an accurate time frame of his death, the real legal recorded documentation provides that 1833 is the actual year he died, rather than "about 1836". I have a photocopy copy of the actual handwritten recording of the Will and Probate information that the clerk from the Recorder's Office wrote in Will Book #3 from the Court House that I used to transcribe the Will and Probate documents I posted. If anyone would like a copy of the handwritten Court House documents, please e-mail me. I will be glad to send it to you. gardeneranderson@verizon.net Teresa Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 2. Deb Riley
    3. I was wondering if anyone on the list is familiar with the Zentmyer Farm near Alexandria where Major John Zentmyer was buried in the Zentmyer Family Cemetery about 1889. I'm wondering if there is a stone that still exists and where I would go to get a photo. It is believed it is on private property, so if anyone knows who I would contact for permission I would be very appreciative. Thanks, Deb
