    3. Hi Bea - I think we already discussed our connection. Anna Weaver married Ralph Botteicher. Ralph was my grandfather John's brother. I can gladly give you their descendants if you like. 1. [PAHUNTIN] our mailing list - OFFLIST "gateway" and "reply" survey - OFFLIST only please
    2. Judy Banja
    3. I have to type some of this message in capital letters. I just want to say up front that that doesn't mean I'm "yelling." Question Number One - The PAHUNTIN list is "gatewayed" so that the Rootsweb Huntingdon message board postings are automatically sent to the mailing list. However, mailing list replies that are sent from those messages are NOT placed on the message board. When a subscriber receives one of those gatewayed messages, there is a link it in, and to reply to the board, you have to click on the link, type your message on the board, and then it is in turn relayed to the mailing list. I (and lots of subscribers who contact me about it) often find that confusing, and lots of folks don't remember to click on the link. They just hit reply and the message board is bypassed and the original person who posted the query or the info on the board never knows anybody replied. My question is - do you, the subscribers, want me to REMOVE that gateway, so that you no longer receive the message board postings on the mailing list? That would mean that you could still visit the message board, and sign up for notifications from the message board, but closing the gateway will eliminate a lot of confusion and duplication of emails. The PABLAIR list is NOT gatewayed. Annie W. keeps the mailing list and the message board separated. Those of you who are subbed to both lists can do a mental comparison of the way both gatewayed and non-gatewayed systems function, and choose which method you like best. Question Number Two - The PAHUNTIN list is set so that when you get a message and want to respond to it, if you click Reply, your response goes directly to the mailing list. For purposes of comparison, the PABLAIR list is set to reply to the individual, not to the mailing list. How to let me know - The PAHUNTIN gateway is currently OPEN. Please click the link jbanja@comcast.net to contact me OFFLIST to let me know whether you want the gateway to remain open, or to be closed. The PAHUNTIN mailing list is set to automatically REPLY TO THE LIST. Please click on the link jbanja@comcast.net to contact me OFFLIST to let me know whether you'd like me to change a setting so that Reply will send responses directly to the person to whom you wish to respond, instead of directly to the mailing list. There's no way we can hold a referendum and get a majority vote one way or another here, because lots of folks don't care and won't vote. This is more along the lines of a straw poll. If you don't care one way or another, please don't respond. I only want to hear from the folks who care strongly one way or another, please. I get a lot of private mail from people who do NOT like the working of the current system, but am unwilling to change it without consulting the subscribers. 2. Deb Riley
    3. I am wondering if anyone on the list might have more information on Rosanah Clark, age 49, who appears in the 1860 census for Tyrone Township, Blair County. I believe she would have probably resided in the Sinking Valley area. Living with her is Emmeline Clark, age 24. I suspect Emmeline is either Rosanah's daughter or daughter in law. Also living with them is George Isett, age 26, who is listed as a farm laborer. Emmeline Clark eventually married or had children with George Isett. George died during the civil war. Emmeline went on to live with/marry William Yon, and appears in the 1870 census for Allegheny Township and in the 1880 census for Logan Township, Blair Co., PA. She had children with him as well. Going back to the 1860 census, also appearing with Rosanah, Emmeline, and George are: Cerventha Clark, age 5 Millard Clark, age 4 Joseph Clark, age 6/12 George Clark, age 2 Now, George, age 2, appears in later censuses as George Isett. So, I am assuming he was the son of Emmeline and George, and the recording of his name as Clark in 1860 was a mistake. However, someone has recently suggested that Emmeline's maiden name was PRICE. So, could this mean that she was married to one of Rosanah Clark's sons who died leaving her with the small children who appear in the 1860 census? Others have suggested the young Clark children listed in 1860 were actually all Isett children. I would love to hear from anyone who is researching the Clark family who knows more about the family dynamics and relationships of Rosanah and Emmeline Clark. I would like to be able to verify how many times Emmeline married and whether her maiden name was Clark or Price. Being an Isett researcher, I am also curious to know more about any of these children who may have been Isetts. Any help or clues greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance, Deb

    1. Re: [PAHUNTIN] Joshua Brown & Charlotte Morris
    2. Hi, I have worked on the Joshua Brown & Charlotte Morris line for years. There were a few older researchers that connected this Joshua Brown to the quakers in Lancaster/chester Counties. But I have proven that our Joshua Brown is NOT the son of Joshua Brown & Hannah Gatchell in Lancaster/Chester County. Their son Joshua is documented quite thoroughly in the Quaker records and the probate records. Instead of explaining it again or relisting all of the proof, I will show you two websites that explain it all. This first one is all of my proof and notes on Joshua Brown & Charlotte Morris who I descend from. http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=katwells&id=I0518 This second website is the Joshua Brown & Hannah Gatchell lineage showing all of my proof. http://wc.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=kathywells3&id=I0035 I do want to say that we have a large group now that is studying Joshua Brown & Charlotte Morris. Thanks to an anonymous donor, our group also has DNA proof now to prove that William S. Brown b.1758 that was in Huntingdon Co. and moved later to Ohio, was either a brother to our Joshua Brown or a very close cousin. I also have proof that Joshua had close relations (most likely brothers) to Daniel Brown and James Brown. On the other side, those that descend from William S. Brown have proof (a bible record) that his father's name was James, and he had brothers Thomas and Joseph. We don't know if the James they both are connected to could be the father of all of these men??? That is what we are working on. If you want to join our group to find out what we have found contact Bobby Brown at: Bobby@Brown.Org Thanks a bunch, Kathy Wells. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Max Panal" <maxpanal@gmail.com> To: <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com>; <pahuntin@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, September 20, 2007 7:59 AM Subject: Re: [PAHUNTIN] Elihu and Nancy Brown tombstone in Old BaptistCemetery > >From Steve Kemp, Huntingdon, with families from Trough Creek Valley. > Question about whether the Brown history (Springfield Township, this > county; > prior to that, Lancaster) ends with Joshua Brown, Sr. Are there sources > that > are reliable or plausible, of the generation of JB Sr. and his wife > (name?) > or even before... just curious, I am no relation. 3. >From Steve Kemp, Huntingdon, with families from Trough Creek Valley. Question about whether the Brown history (Springfield Township, this county; prior to that, Lancaster) ends with Joshua Brown, Sr. Are there sources that are reliable or plausible, of the generation of JB Sr. and his wife (name?) or even before... just curious, I am no relation. I have noticed descendants of this family being mentioned and cited around this county, for years and years, by a great number of people.
