Does anyone have the parents of William Traxler, father of James Dorris? William was born c1824, and was living in Tell Twp, Huntingdon Co, in the 1880 census. He married Mary Bollinger (1830-1921) I am guessing that William was the son of Michael Traxler (c1755-a 1818 Dublin twp, Huntingdon County) and wife Elizabeth. Michael and Elizabeth had 6 children baptized Shippensburg Reformed, Cumberland Co, bet 1782 and 1793. There were at least 5 sons born before 1782, so lots of choices for the father of William. Recently Mike Gifford listed an obit for a Harry Cowan, son of Harry and Melissa Traxler. Was this Melissa the daughter of James Dorris and Mary J. Traxler? I have a Melissa listed in my files as a daughter of these two but no dates or anything else except her siblings. Thanks. Dave
