This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Kelly/McMullen Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ZdB.2ACI/3061 Message Board Post: I'm looking for the origin of Isaac Kelly of Huntingdon and later Cambria Co, Pa. He was born about 1815, married first Agnes McMullen and later Sarah McMullen. From 1860 he appears in Cambria Co, but is probably the Isaac Kelly listed between Jane and Hugh McMullen in the 1840 Huntingdon Co census. I am interested in finding our more about John Kelly of Shirley Twp, who may be Isaac's father. (Note that there is a John Kelly in nearby Dublin Twp who is easily confused.) John appears in appears in the 1820 and 1830 Census in Shirley Township, and on tax lists from 1817 on. He may have died between 1830 and 1840. Children mentioned in tax lists (as poor children needing public support for schooling) are John, Jr., Levy, David, Nancy, Elizabeth, Mary and Isaac. I'm grateful for any information on any of the above names for that period, even if not obviously related. Every piece of the puzzle helps!
Linda, There are a couple of McMath farms in Tell Twp, Huntingdon County that could be the one you are looking for. The original homestead near Blairs Mills is probably not the one you are looking for since the McMath originally settled there about 1780 which is prior to when the not said Abraham lived there. My guess would be that the graves are located on my uncle's (Joe McMath) farm in Tell Twp. The farmhouse that my grandmother lives in was built in the late 1700's and my gg-grandfather, William S. McMath, bought the farm from Aaron Shoop in 1856. Unfortunately I know of no graves on the farm but I can ask my grandmother the next time I go out for a visit. Hope this helps. In the cemetery records that I read for my Bolinger family at Bollinger Cemetery, Cromwell Twp., Huntington Co., Pa. - someone had written this in the margin: "2 graves on McMath farm are lst wife and child of Abraham Bollinger who owned farm at beg. of the 19th century." I believe they are referring to Abraham Bolinger s/o Michael and Catherine Bolinger of Tell Twp., Huntingdon, Pa. I have looked high and low for information on these graves with no success. Someone obviously knows where they are. Is there anyone out there more familiar with the area that can help me? I am new to the Huntingdon County list. It appears that we had a SLONECKER / SLONAKER family member living in Frankstown Twp in the from at least 1797 to the 1820s. This family may have come from Berks County, PA. I know very little about this family and would like to see if there are any references to them in the county. They appear to have lived in Frankstown. If anyone has a resource that might have this family, I'd appreciate a lookup. Thank you Teri Cleaveland * * * * * * * * http://oak.cats.ohiou.edu/~tc186698/index.html

My husband Karl does research on cemeteries as a hobby... He has written and published a book "Cemeteries of Dauphin County 2000". He has done research on Lebanon, Perry, Lancaster, Juniata, York, and Cumberland counties as well. He is particularly interested in the "forgotten cemeteries. CEMETERIES OF DAUPHIN COUNTY -2000 Compiled by Karl Fox .. His e-mail address has changed to Karlfox9@aol.com When the weather gets a bit warmer, he will go to Huntingdon and try to find this cemetery. Dottie Fox
My 3rd great grandmother was Catherine Bolinger born Nov. 15, 1820, died July 28, 1873. She had a sister Mary Ann, born April 5, 1830. Catherine married Frederick James Vaughn... both Frederick and Catherine are buried in Juniata County... I have the bible that belonged to Frederick and Catherine, but there is no information as to where Catherine was born. The only other information I have on Catherine is that her father was Abram Bolinger and her mother was Mary Crow. Does anyone see any connection here. Thank you, Dottie Fox

I need to apologize to the list. I offered to do look ups from the marriages performed by the Rev. John Johnson and asked that the requests be sent directly to me. It appears that some people asked for look ups through the list site instead of directly to me. I have replied, "Sorry no entries" to numerous people, but it looks like I am sending this to the entire list which I do not want to do. Please send your look up requests to me at Dlabtle@aol.com instead of to the entire list, so I can just select the reply box and answer you request instead of sending the message to the entire list.
