Bill, "Chubb" seems to be Charles E. Barrick. Charles and Ruth E. Barrick lived at 1530 West Spring Avenue, Huntingdon, PA in 1930. They can be found on Lines 22-23, Page 14-A, Huntingdon County, Huntingdon Borough, 4th Ward, PA Census 1930. Roll T626-2044 if you want to look it up. They did not have any children listed in their household. Wayne

I, too, would be interested in any information on Casper Booher's family. Casper's daughter, Catherine, married a Beatty. I'm wondering if it was John Beatty, father of Elizabeth Beatty. I would very much appreciate any information on this line. Nancy Miller Lorz Researching Miller, Hawn , Speck, Snyder, Shaver, Barrick, Clapper, Beaver, to name a few. -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Cryder, Kryder, Kreider, Greiter Date: Mon, 10 Feb 2003 05:22:24 -0700 From: "Nearhoof" <nearhoof@nb.net> To: <PAHUNTIN-D-request@rootsweb.com> In the Huntingdon County court house I found a Last Will and Testament for Joseph Kreider of Warriors Mark Township dated July 4, 1821. The will is in old German script. I had the will translated and will be donating a copy of the translation to the Huntingdon Historical Society and the Blair County Genealogy Society. I was wondering if anyone knows what dates may be Joseph's gravestone. I am interested in his date of birth and death (death probably sometime in 1821). I would like to determine when and where he may have come to this country. According to History of Huntingdon and Blair Counties, Pennsylvania by J. Simpson Africa, "Joseph Krider and his wife Eve came from Berks County at an early day, and settled a little east of Spring Mount, the site of which was on the Krider tract. He died in that locality, and was interred in the Rumberger graveyard." As some on this list may know, his wife was Eva Rumberger, his daughter Lydia born Aug 14, 1816 - died July 15, 1867 married Isaac Buck and his daughter Elizabeth married Daniel Beck etc. Any information from Joseph's gravestone or any additional information on Joseph Sr. will be appreciated. Thanks, Ralph nearhoof@nb.net
"Nellie" can also be Cornelia. Steve Kemp
Thank you all for your suggestions on the nickname 'Nettie'. It certainly gives me something to go on. Happy Hunting, Nance
Jean - Nellie is usually short for Eleanor. HOWEVER - you can't guarantee that such a name is a nickname. In the previous discussion about Nettie - my great-grandmother was only NETTIE. It was not short for anything else. Linda ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jean R. I found a site on nicknames and naming customs at http://www.tngenweb.org/franklin/frannick.htm There are several names that refer to the nickname Nettie.
