    3. Dear Claire, I'm sitting here trying to straighten out all the Hannah Ginnas so I''' throw this question at you. Hannah Ginna left a will in Cecil Co in 1838 in which she first names her sister Mary Reynolds and leaves her a large Bible. Then she names Hannah G Reynolds my niece. Did your Mary have a daughter born before 1836 named Hannah G? Do you have birthdates for Mary or for Jesse Reynolds? I have two or more Hannah's and that might help me decide which one wrote this will. Hannah also left inheritances to girls by name of McCullough, Kirk, Nickle, Jenkins, as well as Caroline Weir (my line) and Hannah Ginna who had married John Ramsey and lived in Illinois. I know this Hannah. 3. Barb, I don't know why your grandmother was quiet; I do know that mine was too; so were my mother and father. So I've been on a "digging" mission for over two years. I do know that my grandparents, father and aunt lived in Robertsdale; grandparents are buried in Broad Top City cemetery. I found the Huntingdon Historical Society, Huntingdon Courthouse and the Coal Miner's Museum in Robertsdale, especially Carolyn Carroll, to be very helpful. All of the above were born in Hainaut Province, Belgium. Wish I could be more helpful. -----Original Message----- From: L3604B401@aol.com [mailto:L3604B401@aol.com] Sent: Monday, April 14, 2003 1:13 PM To: PAHUNTIN-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [PAHUNTIN] STULLER & BAKER - HUNTINGDON & BEDFORD CO Time to try again. 3. Joshua Brown Researchers, Is this Joshua Brown (Generation 5) (below) that died in 1798, buried in the Old School Baptist Cemetery? I have not seen his name in the cemetery list???? Can anyone tell me where this came from, and where the proof came from about him buried in the cemetery? The Quaker records show he lived his whole life and died in Little Brittain, Lancaster County. Also, I talked with Ron Rose myself. Ron has a wonderful database of information, so I am not bashing Ron in any way. But, Joshua Brown & Charlotte are not from his line of family. I believe he said he got the information from Mrs. Luella Sweigert's Family group records & ancestral charts because they pertained to Fulton County. I believe that Mrs. Sweigerts information is incorrect though. In examining all of the Quaker Records and Probate Records from lancaster County, it shows that Joshua Brown who married Hannah Gatchell died there, and both of his sons named Joshua Brown (one died young) both lived and died in Little Brittain. It is proven by Quaker records and the Willls that both Joshua's left in Lancaster County. Please, anyone connected with this family, please get in on this conversation. If we all pool our proof/information together we might be able to get this family traced back. We have also been discussing this on the Brown list, and the Fulton & Bedford County lists. I'm thinking maybe we should all settle on one and then have a big discussion???? :~). Thanks Kathy Wells. > Generation No. 5 > > 5. JOSHUA 5 BROWN, SR. 1. [PAHUNTIN] Seek my NJ Dad's older step-siblings who were sent to PA; surname HAMLER
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Hamler, Morgan, Carpenter Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ZdB.2ACI/3085 Message Board Post: My late father --(John) Kenneth Hamler (1908, Morris Co., NJ-1972, LA, CA)--never knew his older step-brothers and step-sisters because when their mother died, the steps were sent from NJ to live "with relatives in PA." (Plus, I believe the step-siblings were much older than my Dad.) I would like to find the HAMLER descendents of my dad's step-brothers and sisters. The steps would have been born from the marriage of Cornelius ("Corny") Hamler (1850-1913, Sussex Co. NJ) and Hannah ("Annie") Morgan; they married in 1872 in New Jersey. The NJ Census of 1880 showed only two people living in the Cornelius Hamler household: Cornelius, age 29 and Annie, age 17, Hamler. I do believe that the Census-taker miswrote 27 (which Hannah (Morgan) Hamler would have been in 1880). Otherwise, my grandfather had a 3rd wife, Annie, that I am not familiar with! The official record that I have of my Grandfather's first marriage was to "Hannah Morgan" of NJ (not "Annie"--which a "Hannah" could be called). In the NJ Census of 1900, my Grandfather was listed as "a widower, living alone." By 1904, he was having a daughter with my grandmother, Augusta Carpenter (1868-1937, NJ). That daughter would be the first of Cornelius and Augusta's 3 children: Edna (1904-1942); Mildred (1906-1920) and my father, (John) Kenneth Hamler (1908-1972). In case it helps, Cornelius's father, my GGrandfather, was William H. Hamler (1802-1854, Sussex Co., NJ) and my GGrandmother was Noyetta Kindred (1808-1872, Morris and Sussex Co., NJ.) Their children were: 1.) Jehila Hamler Fullington b. 1830, Morris Co., NJ 2.) Isaac Hamler , b. 1832, Sussex Co., NJ 3.) Mary Ann Hamler, b. 1835, Sussex Co., NJ 4.) Sarah R. Hamler, b. 1838, Sussex Co., NJ 5.) William H. Hamler, b. 1839, Sussex Co., NJ 6.) Andrew H. Hamler, b. 1843, Sussex Co., NJ 7.) John Hamler, b. 1845, Sussex Co., NJ 8.) Elijah ("Lige") Hamler, b. 1846, Sussex Co., NJ (Seems to have been Missing in Action during the Civil War where he entered under-age and served as a drummer.) 9.) Cornelius Hamler (1850-1913, Sussex Co., NJ) I am also looking for any and all Hamlers and Hamler-seekers. I am the adminstrator of the Hamler MyFamily Web Page and those of us who are researching the surname Hamler are trying to gather of information together to help each other with this unusual name. Contact me at my email address of you would like a password to the Hamler MyFamily Web Page. Kathleen Hamler Purchase LPurch6636

    3. Thanks to everyone who sent replies about Saxton. I now have a good idea about where it is and now understand the link I uncovered a few nights ago. Up until that time I had never heard of Saxton. I also promise to try real hard to break the bad habit of spelling Huntingdon with a "D" instead of a "T". Thanks again for everyone's help, the maps and history of Huntingdon & Bedford really helped. Jean Wall
