Upon completing 95% of the repairs on those two stones (as shown from Ken Boonie's efforts and great photography which I must mention that I didn't realize he took those other pictures , just shows how involved we were :)) those 2 questions were no more and converted to my thoughts that for generations to come that as a result of our efforts SOMEONE will be able to answer those questions for themselves. I don't need to be recognized or hyped up about the whole thing, it brings me great "PLEASURE" to know that people cared enough about those we never known that someday we have given the opportunity to allow someone the enjoyment to do so. 3. Good Morning List, As you looked at the pictures of the repair work did you think about the names on the headstones? Loving genealogy I had to know about Harvey and Amelia Brumabugh; this is what I found: Isaac "Harvey" Brumbaugh born March 10, 1870 in Penn Township, Pennsylvania the son of Henry Boyer Brumbaugh (born in Penn Township) and Susan Fink Peightal. On April 26, 1900 he married Amelia Henrietta Johnson who was born January 28, 1874. Harvey and Amelia's children: Barbara Brumbaugh born October 24, 1901 Catherine Bulfinch Brumbaugh born November 22, 1902 Marion Johnson Brumbaugh born March 2, 1907 Henry Martin Brumbaugh born November 12, 1912 Harvey's ocupation: In 1911 he was President of Juniata College. The 1930 Pennsylvania Census for Huntingdon has his occupation as: Teacher at College. Poem: "Dear Ancestor" Your tombstone stands among the rest, neglected and alone. The name and dates are chiseled out on polished marble stone. It reaches out to all who care; it is too late to mourn. You did not know that I exist; you died; and I was born. Yet each of us are cells of you, in flesh, in blood, in bone. Our blood contracts and beats a pulse entirely not our own. Dear Ancestor, the place you filled so long ago Spreads out among the ones you left, who would have loved you so. I wonder if you knew That someday I would find the spot, and come and visit you. (Author Unknown) Happy Friendship Day (August 3, 2003)

I've got the first batch uploaded at http://www.rootsweb.com/~pahuntin/riverview_repairs.html We had a real good time. The weather was a little hot and humid but the end result sure gave everybody a great feeling of satisfaction. On behalf of everybody, I'd like to extend my thanks to the dedication displayed by Ken, Rex and Sean. Their employer is very fortunate to have them as employees. And a special thanks to "Buck" Rupert, Huntingdon borough maintenance employee. Buck really helped us out. I'll have to see if the mayor might consider giving him a raise. 3. Ken, Thanks so much for the pictures... please keep them coming, they are so much appreciated. Is there somewhere we can send a donation to help with the expenses? I would hope that a local newspaper would do an article on not only the dedicated people doing the repairs but the senseless acts that produced all this damage. Betty and Bill Ottoson

    3. Good Day to all, I am in search of information on my Bollinger Families...... John W. Bollinger/Bolinger died between the 1920 and 1930 census. I found him in Mount Union in the 1920 census. His wife died in 1933 .....in the 1930 census she was in Mifflin County and listed as a widow. Need info on John. His daughter Adaline M. Bollinger Moffett died on July 6, 1916.......I can not find her obit either. I wouls gladly pay for the cost of a look up of both of these two . John is my Grandmother's father and Adaline is her sister. I have a copy of Adaline's death certificate it says she in Huntingdon County and that she is buried in Mount Union.....where??? It did state that a A.J. Barber was the undertaker. What funeral Home was he in? Could someone get a copy of his records to look at? Where and how? Like to hear from you! Thanks...... 1. [PAHUNTIN] Mary Catherine Shaver TWEED 1833-19?
    2. New, Anne
    3. An update on an earlier request--still looking for Mary Catherine Shaver TWEED, b 1833, divorced wife of Thomas Tweed. Lived in Shaver's Creek area of Huntingdon County in the late 1860's with her husband Thomas, who was a gardener. In the years before and following their divorce, ca 1871, lived with David and Susan VARNER of Jackson and Miller Twps. Mary TWEED moved into Huntingdon Boro. in late 1870's. In 1903, age 70, she is living at 1229 Mifflin Street in Huntingdon Boro - 4th Ward. 1900 Fed. census said that she has no children. Hoping for a death date and/or obituary and/or cemetery/tombstone reference. (Riverview Cemetery says that she is not listed as a lot owner.) She is important as a bridge to the previous generation because I think that she is an older sister to my greatgrandfather, John Henry VARNER, 1845-1914. Mary TWEED was Methodist. (Thomas TWEED was Presbyterian at time of his death in 1882.) Anne newa@einetwork.net
