    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/ZdB.2ACI/3131.1.1 Message Board Post: Catherine and Betsy were both captured by Indians. Betsy's family found her via searching and paying money for her return. The book I have does not say how much money or who the money was paid to. Catherine spent many years with the Indians. She headed after several years towards "the white mans town" but a dog kept following her. She went back and secured the dog and took off by herself. The Indians followed her. She hid in a hollowed out log as they walked across the top of her. Catherine eventually married a Huston---which is how I am tied to her. My GGGUncle in Wallace, NE stated this story to the family and I also received this information from an out of print book called the Houston Family history. None of the sources of my information specifically state how long she was gone, but indicate several years.

    1. Re: [PAHUNTIN] Re: JOSHUA BROWN
    2. Kathy & David Wells
    3. You are correct in that our Joshua Brown that married Charlotte Morris is NOT the son of the Joshua Browns from Lancaster/Chester Counties, PA. We have proven that for sure. But our Joshua may have been a son of another brother or member of the 'Browns' of that area. Our Joshua may not have had a father named Joshua. I have found several male 'Browns' that I can not find a list of their children, that were of the right age to have had a son born in 1765. It is a slow process to check out every Quaker 'Brown Family' male in Lancaster/Chester counties that was of the right age to have a son Joshua born about 1765 (our Joshua). I am slowly finding them one at a time, and so far any of them that had a son Joshua, the Joshua is accounted for already with a different wife and children. (I have the Browns of Chester/Lancaster all in a separate GEDCOM if anyone is interested in me sending it to them. It has my list of proof, alot of it is from Quaker records that I have compiled on these Browns). We do feel fairly sure that our Joshua had brothers named Daniel & James, and possibly one named William. We need to hear from anyone descending from the Daniel & James Brown that were in Bedford/Huntingdon counties between 1750-1850 period of time. They might have some clues??? But I am ready to see any information that comes up from anyone. At this point, we will research any leads. If anyone has any suggestions please put them out there for us all to see. We would appreciate it. Thanks, Kathy Wells. ----- Original Message ----- From: <garybetty@lmf.net> To: <PAHUNTIN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, October 08, 2003 10:20 PM Subject: [PAHUNTIN] Re: JOSHUA BROWN > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/ZdB.2ACI/93.1516.1.1 > > Message Board Post: > > Richard Brown, B June 25 1797, Maddensville, Huntingdon Co., PA, D August 20 1874, Springfield Twp., Huntingdon Co., PA.
