Polly Wheland and her husband have been traveling throughout Huntingdon county for decades, collecting tombstone inscriptions. She put them together into a book which she gave to the Huntingdon County Historical Society. My suggestion is to check this site-- http://www.rootsweb.com/~pahuntin/hchs-cems.htm Their research library is staffed by volunteers. Send them a donation with your lookup request.

I've been to the cemetery for the Shirleysburg Home in search of my ancestor, Richard Rutherford. It's actually quite sad. It's more of a "potter's field." There are only a couple markes - the rest are just graves in the grass - So many forgotton souls... It makes me wonder if my guy, Richard, wasn't liked very much in life . I've seen one of his brother's graves (in another cemetery) and was such a large affair - surrounded by chhildren and grandchildren... Did your ancestor also live at the Shirley Home?? They might have info for you... Mo

    3. I have five pictures that can be sent out. As before, an email to [email protected] with the surname of the person in whom you are interested will bring you the photo. They are: Prof. Abram Fultz, page 65 Charles Henry Fetterolf, page 67 Ira Newton Foust, Sr., page 68 Wilfred E. Fleck, page 68 Myron J Fyock, page 69 The first picture is placed following the bio of Abram Fultz and immediately preceding the bio of Albert James Moore. I think it is Fultz's photo but no guarantees. Maybe a descendent can add some surety. Dave
