T., I was looking to see if Hugh had a stone, Patrick's brother. I found a new cousin, that is descended from our King family. I had sent an email and copied it to you a few days ago. George's wife Mary is buried in Wheelen Cemetery, I know there is more to the name but forget, the church is not there anymore and the cemetery has only a couple of stones left. Our Mary's stone is still standing I guess, this cemetery is in a field on a guy's farm, you can see it from the main road. I guess George, Patrick's brother is buried in Green county, Pa, and William is buried in Licking county, Ohio, which I am going to try to research thru some mailing lists. jamie
Jamie, I am in Huntingdon right now, will be going to Mount Nebo. I posted King's with existing stones at Mount Nebo on findagrave. The family plot is large, there are sisters of Hugh and James King with husbands buried in plot. I didn't know they were sisters at the times I was there before, until I read George King's will. (which named daughter's) I don't know where George King and wife are buried. Any one know? His Will requests a proper Christian burial. I know he is NOt at Gilboa. I will take pictures in the next few days and send them to you. Who are you looking for? Nebo or Nebo cemetery Hi Wendy: By any chance are there any SHANER burials in this cemetery? Jacob and Mary Elizabeth Shaner have been stonewalls for many years. Even with help from ancestors still in PA, no one to my knowledge has found where, when or where buried. They both died after 1860 (last time on census) in Centre Co, but descendants in Blair. Just keep trying. Thanks for looking. Yes the book is as you say, but even more, the book contains stories of families and what it was like for them in the early days. The book contains over a 100 names and some great pictures, the book may have been a poor seller when it was first published but I do not think there were as many people in to researching as we have today. The price they are trying to sale the book is too high and I believe they know this and they are considering changing that, All in all the book make for very interesting reading and hold a great deal of information. Hi Wendy: By any chance are there any SHANER burials in this cemetery? Jacob and Mary Elizabeth Shaner have been stonewalls for many years. Even with help from ancestors still in PA, no one to my knowledge has found where, when or where buried. They both died after 1860 (last time on census) in Centre Co, but descendants in Blair. Just keep trying. Thanks for looking. WV in 1900..but Mr. Daugherty was not listed in any census with her..the only proof of marriage is her name..she is listed in Elk Garden, WV 1900 as Mrs. Jane Daugherty..(her name was Sarah) In Sarah's obit of 1924 he is not mentioned..she is buried in Westernport, MD.
How about some dates for what you do have. Some of the Sieberts in Huntingdon crossed just over the county line to Franklin where they were members of the Presbyterian church. The records are NOT indexed but I can check for you if I have some dates.
