    1. [PAHL] Help Keep This List Active
    2. Jim Jackson
    3. This list has just been re-activated and we just want to encourage you all to make use of it in your family searches. A large number of Rootsweb lists have been made inactive due to no messages over a period of time. We want to keep as many lists active as we possibly can and your participation will help toward that goal. If you have a "brick wall" in your family search, send in a message to the list address with as much information as you have and let's see if someone may be able to help fill in those blanks. Best wishes, Jim and Di

    3. Do you have any idea why your family chose Eau Claire?? It has always seemed strange to me that two Pahl families settled so close together, and evidentually did not know each other. My Johann August (called August) came to america from Hamburg to castle garden 1883, (unconfirmed) by train to Trp. C0.He married Friederike Peterson. Six children made the journey, my grandfather Johann August being only 1 year. They traveled with their KUBE cousins. My grandfather and his brother Ernest had a brickyard The first Johan August lived in Gross Schönfeld, Kreis Greifenhagen, he was a carpenter, and farm hand.He was married to CAroline Benecke. Are you related to the Milwaukee Pahls? They also came from Rogasen, Posen. Family lore has then related to us, I'm still trying to prove this. 3. Here's the outline of my Pahls. I've been unsuccessful in finding a census record or immigration record of the original Otto Pahl - the only things I have for him are death and military service. Descendants of Otto Pahl Generation No. 1 1. OTTO1 PAHL died July 15, 1879 in St. Louis, St. Louis, MO, USA. He married MENA STEINBERG May 14, 1874 in St. Louis, St. Louis, MO, USA, daughter of JOHANN STEINBERG and SOPHIE STEINGRANDT. She was born 1849 in St. Louis, St. Louis, MO, USA. Children of OTTO PAHL and MENA STEINBERG are: 2. i. FREDERICK2 PAHL, b. Abt. 1876. ii. OTTO PAHL, b. Abt. 1879. Generation No. 2 2. FREDERICK2 PAHL (OTTO1) was born Abt. 1876. He married VIOLA LEACH. She was born 1880 in California. Children of FREDERICK PAHL and VIOLA LEACH are: i. VICTOR LAWRENCE3 PAHL, b. July 12, 1901. ii. GEORGE WILTON PAHL, b. July 29, 1896. 3. iii. WILLIAM CHESTER PAHL, b. February 06, 1903. iv. GLADYS F PAHL, b. 1908. v. VENNIE M PAHL, b. 1906. Generation No. 3 3. WILLIAM CHESTER3 PAHL (FREDERICK2, OTTO1) was born February 06, 1903. He married LOIS K 1924. She was born 1907 in Oregon. Children of WILLIAM PAHL and LOIS K are: i. KENNETH W4 PAHL, b. 1925. ii. FRED H PAHL, b. 1928.
