DEATHS 1873 Aug. 13* Daniel HOSTETLER, elderly citizen of of German Twp., Fayette Co., Pa., and father of the well known HOSTETLER blind family of musicians, died recently. Six year old son of William CANON drowned in Georges Creek. Aug. 27* Pearce VERNON, respected citizen of Waynesburg, died recently. George LEMLEY, elderly citizen of Waynesburg, died last Tuesday and was buried at White's Church. John PORTER died at his residence near West Alexander, Washington Co., at the age of about 100 years. Sept. 3* Mrs. PETTIT, wife of Isaac PETTIT of Morris Twp., Greene Co. died last week. Sept. 10* Mr. BARNHART of Cumberland Twp. died last week at the age of 80 years. Sept. 17* Mrs. Eleanor BARNES of Franklin Twp, wife of William BARNES, died last week at the age of 94 years. A small child of Ellis JOHNS of Morrisville, Greene Co., died last week of Scarlet fever and diptheria. Oct. 8* A child of H. C. Morgan of Waynesburg died last Monday of diptheria, aged 15 months. Oct 15* Joshua THOMAS died on his farm in Franklin Twp., at the age of 88 years. Oct 22* James GOLDING of West Alexander, Washington Co., accidentally fell to his death from a roof where he was repairing a chimney. Christian GRIM, of Aleppo Twp., a pioneer and native of Greene Co., died last week at the age of 90 years. Oct. 29* Abraham DELANEY, of Perry Twp., died recently of Cancer. Oct. 31 Henry HOLMES of Ryerson Station died of consumption. He was about 65 years of age. Nov. 5* John WARD, an elderly man of Waynesburg, died at the home of his son last Sunday. Mrs. Elizabeth FAIRCHILD, wife of Dr. FAIRCHILD, a long time pastor of the New Geneva Presbyterian Church, was buried there on Oct. 3rd. Margaret McGLUMPHY, daughter of William, of Jackson Twp., died of consumption last week. Nov. 12* Cary MEEKS, of Washington Twp., died last week. John SEALS, son of James, died last week of consumption at his home in Morris Twp., Greene Co. Nov. 12* Mrs. Abigal MARTIN, a widow lady of Aleppo Twp., aged about 53 years, died of typhoid fever. A little girl of Michael STALEY, Richhill Twp., died last week from the effect of burns received last April. James CLEMMENS, of Monongahela, Washington Co., died last Friday at the age of about 26 years. Nov. 19* Rev. E. P. LEWIS, of Waynesburg attended the funeral of his brother, Dr. D. W. LEWIS, of East Liberty. Nov. 26* George HOWELL, a soldier of the War of 1812, died at West Alexander, Pa., in his 93rd year. Dec. 3* Mrs. JORDON, consort of Robert, of Jefferson, died of consumption.
