The obit is for Leslie Willis, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Willis of Rices Landing. . He died in January of 1901 (obit 7 Feb 1901). The obit was placed by a committee of the Hewitt's Sabbath School. Hi, Serena, Looks like he might have been a son of William and Priscilla Willis of Rices Landing. Didn't find them in 1900, but did find them in 1880 with sons William 17 and Franklin 3 or 5. Earlier in 1860, they had a dau. named Mary. She may have married a Flenniken because William (age 17 in 1880) appears to be living in a Flenniken/Fleniken household in 1920. So, I would guess that this "Leslie" was actually a Leslie Franklin Willis or Franklin Leslie Willis. Ah, finally found part of this family in 1900. Priscilla age 56 is in Cumberland, Greene with dau. Aletha 19 b. Jul 1880. Priscilla is listed as b. Aug 1843, as married 41 years, 4 children, all living. Wm. D. is on the next census page living alone apparently working as a gardener for a Young family and likely living on their land. He also says he has been married 41 years. Still no Leslie or Franklin in 1900. Best regards, Jane
