This is just FYI, in case others are having problems accessing BMD certificates at www.wvculture.org/vrr/ (the West Virginia vital records site) for our southwestern PA ancestors who wandered over the state line. The site is very slow, and the results page indicates records are found but won't display them. I've been experiencing this for a few weeks now, on different computers and internet connections. I emailed the site staff about this problem. They told me that my searches are timing out because their aging servers are having trouble handling the large volume of requests. Until they can get the servers replaced they suggested I try searching at off-peak hours, such as early morning. Another workaround is to use the WV databases at the Family Search pilot site (http://search.labs.familysearch.org). The records there don't contain as much detail as the certificates, but it's a lot better than nothing - and the Family Search site has a better search engine. Leslie

Thanks for the heads up on what's going on with that site.  It's been driving me nuts the past couple days because if I put in the entire name it won't locate any records but if I put in part of the name and use the wildcard it locates all sorts of names for me. Today I located 1 record I was hoping to find, forgot to save it searched for something else and when I realized I didn't save the record it took me 20 minutes to get it to come back up.
