Rush, an aged and highly respected citizen, died at his home in Morris township, Tuesday, June 25, aged 78 years, after an illness of several weeks. Mr. Rush was a son of Silas and Sarah Rush, deceased. He had followed the carpenter trade and also engaged in farming. He was a member of the Beulah Baptist church. Beside his wife he is survived by four children, Demas, of Morris township; Alvie, in the U.S. service and located at a training camp in Texas; Fred and Goldie, at home. The funeral was held on Friday. Interment in the Beulah cemetery. Waynesburg Republican, 24 Mar 1927 Mrs. Louisa E. Rush, widow of Andrew J. Rush, deceased, of Morris township, died in the Washington hospital Wednesday morning, March 9, at 8:30 o'clock, after a week's illness. She was aged 64 years. Her husband's death occurred in 1918. She was a life long member of the Beulah Baptist church and was highly esteemed. Three sons and a daughter survive, Artemus D. Rush and Mrs. Valdia M. Johnson, of Nineveh; Alva M. Rush, of Prosperity; Floyd I. Rush, of Deer Lick R.D. 2. The funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock, in the Enon Baptist church, conducted by the Rev. J. Walter Banres. Interment in the Enon cemetery. A discrepancy in A.J.'s obit jumped out at me. It says "The funeral was held on Friday" - but if he died on Tuesday the 25th, as the obit says, the Friday funeral would have been on the 28th - the day after the obit was published. I have no other information about A.J.'s death or burial dates. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
