There were actually two Johannes Peter's on this ship. The Johannes Peter (John) in the line being discussed was nine years old and traveling with his parents (Philip Heinrich Arndorff, yes - with an A - long story, 12/6/1716 - 5/31/1777 and wife Anna Elizabuth Luhl 2/10/1714 - abt 1767). The other Johannes Peter (5/9/1734 - 9/2/1786)was nineteen years old and traveling with his older brother Johann Conrad 9/16/1722 - unk. These two were the sons of Johann Wilhelm Ohrendorff 9/1692 - aft 2/1740 and Anna Ottilla Durth abt 1687 - aft 1740. Much of the confusion on these two with the same name, on the same ship results from the ship lists not showing any female names or the names of male children under sixteen years old. I also show six children from the union of John and his first wife, Eva Barbara Unknown (may be Mentz) and twelve with Hanna McIlwee. (Eva Barbara didn't die, John ran off with Hanna. Some of their 'squabbling' went public in the Pennsylvania Gazette (Philadelphia) in April 1777.) To narrow John's birth place a bit. It was in Burbach Nassau-Siegen. This is now in the German state of Nordrhein-Westfalen (English = North Rhine-Westphalia. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
