I was told that more records of the court are kept in the basement of the Jackson Building and are not open to the public but could be researched and copied by staff if the docket information was provided. I will be posting more including about my own families charged with "a Riot" in 1821 and again in the 1830s. I also photographed other records in the same Quarter Sessions for "Assault & Battery" thinking that some might be connected to the Riots. In the case of my ADAMS and WILSON families rioting in 1821, it might well be connected to the petition that was sent from the citizens of Greene County to the Commonwealth asking that interracial marriages be outlawed. By that time there were several "mixed" marriages in my lines. Jan Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
