I hope more will follow soon. The new addition is the Esther Ruth Hart Collection, which is housed at the Cornerstone Genealogical Society in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania. Many, many thanks to the patient volunteer staff who allowed me organize and scan the collection. This collection is exciting because of the variety of identified photographs from several branches of the extended family, as well as identified photographs of friends and neighbors, some of which go back to the 1850s! Like most collections, this one also includes unidentified photos, but fortunately the context of the collection and other clues may lead to their identifications. All known clues are listed. Please take a look because you might be the one to solve a photo mystery! To view the collection you can go directly to http://www.greeneconnections.com/BuchananPhotoAlbum/GreeneCoRes/FA_CGSP.html and scroll down to the Esther Ruth Hart Series (Catalogue Code: AN006). If the link fails, you can view the collection by: 1) Going to www.GreeneConnections.com 2) Selecting Photo Archives 3) Selecting CGSP - Cornerstone Genealogical Society 4) Scrolling down to the Esther Ruth Hart Series (Catalogue Code: AN006) Here is a summary of the collection from the Finding Aid, more details can be found with each photo: The Esther Ruth Hart Series (Catalogue Code: AN006) photographs were most likely passed from Miles Leonidas Hart [1868-1950] and his wife, Lulu Hewitt [1878-1962], to their daughter, Esther Ruth Hart [1913-2008], whose friends donated the photographs to the Cornerstone Genealogical Society (144 E. Greene St., PO Box 547; Waynesburg, Pennsylvania 15370) in 2008. Shared with the Greene Connections: Greene County, Pennsylvania Photo Archives Project in 2008. The photographs in this series have been divided into four subseries arranged by family: Hart, Hewitt, Martin and Miscellaneous. The latter contains identified photographs of friends and neighbors. A fifth subseries of mostly unidentified photographs have been arranged in a generally chronological order. Subseries: Hart (Catalogue Code: 0001) features descendants of Neri Hart [1821-1899] and his wife, Margaret Ann Rea [1832-1891]. Subseries: Hewitt (Catalogue Code: 0002) features descendants of Adam Hewitt [1783-1872] and his wife, Susanna Prong [1784-1856]. The oldest photograph in this series is of Jacob Fitz Randolph [1779-1857] and his wife, Ruth (Baily) Fitz Randolph [1791-1876], in-laws of Peter Hewitt [1811-1886]. Subseries: Martin (Catalogue Code: 0003) features descendants of Amos Martin Jr. [1821-1864] and his wife, Rachel Ross. Subseries: Miscellaneous (Catalogue Code: 0004) features friends and neighbors. Subseries: Unassigned (No Additional Code, first image is Item # CGSP_AN006_0001) is composed of mostly unidentified photographs. All known information is listed for each image with the hope of providing clues that will lead to identification. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I am trying to establish the parentage of Hannah Shriver, likely born in Greene Co., who eventually married Vincent Dillon. The Shrivers were likely neighbors of the Dillons as determined by the local censuses of this period. I would appreciate any info. Thanks. Henry S. Dillon hsdlsd@earthlink.net
