This is the Joseph Fox that died in 1847, and his widow, Elsey Fox not only continued to receive a pension from his Rev. War service, but purchased bounty land--in Greene County, I believe. Can any of you provide guidance? Joseph also did what sounds like PA militia service in Northumberland County, following the Revolutionary war in about 1782-1783. Daughter of Dennison Barnes and Sarah Bodine, his wife. Granddaughter of Samuel Bodine and Mary Fox, his wife. Gr-granddaughter of Joseph Fox and Jane Wilson, his 1st wife. Joseph Fox (1758-1847) enlisted 1777 as a private in Capt. David Steele's company, Col. Christian Tebiger's regiment of Virginia; also enlisted 1781 in Capt. Robinson's Ranger Company, Pennsylvania. He was in the battles of Germantown, Brandywine, Monmouth and Stony Point. He died in Greene County, Pa.
