I transferred the legal description of the property to lattitude and longitude and found it to be the approximate location of the Springfield Country Club on the Mohawk River about 14 miles from downtown Springfield Oregon to the northwest upstream on the Mohawk. So: I have approximate location of the DLC. I also have the approximate location of a land purchase of 80 acres in Josephine county which was just north of Grants Pass Oregon, west of highway 99 about 3 miles. (approx). I wonder do you have info about any pottery made in the 1860's and other info that will help as I have some communications with an anthropology and archealogy professor relative to her research on the products made by Barnett Ramsey. Her investigation is that Barnett Ramsey did a lot of work 'throwing' bean pots (and lids) on a wheel using local clays. She is quite interested in this aspect if you have info. I am working on other names, and historical facts, and wonder would you clarify the King connection(s) in brief so that I can learn if they tie into my research. The vast majority of my effort is relative to pioneers of Linn, Lane, and Marion County Oregon and time frame 1840 to 1900, mostly. Do you happen to have reports, or perhaps some confirmation of the wagon party members, or any of them ? Also what other names in addition to Shoup might you clarify for me?
