S. A. H. Donovan Morris, 63, of Oak Forest Road, Waynesburg, died Monday, February 12, 2001, at his home after a three-year battle with cancer. He was born July 23, 1937, in Whiteley Township, Greene County, a son of the late E. Harold "Ace" and Dorothy May Temple Morris. Mr. Morris was a 1955 graduate of Waynesburg High School. He served in the U. S. Navy from 1955 through 1958 as a radioman aboard the USS Lexington and was selected for the presidential honor guard. Mr. Morris worked as a hoist operator for R. G. Johnson Construction Co. He also worked as a plastering contractor and was a musician. He performed in Jamboree U. S. A. in Wheeling, W. Va., and was the first piano player to be hired for the musical staff. He had been a member of the Morris Brothers Band since 1967. He was a member of Oak View United Methodist Church and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 461, both in Waynesburg. On August 7, 1958, he married Linda Belford Morris, who survives. Also surviving are six children, Purri Donovan Morris of Harrisburg, Douglas Edwin Morris of Pittsburgh, Carrie Shawn Plock of Rogersville, Steve Colin Morris of Carmichaels, Donda Lin Danforth of Cheat Lake, W. Va., and Courtney Brooke Morris of Miami, Fla.; and Time Morris; a granddaughter, Drew Alexandra Danforth; two sisters, Dena B. Shultz and Terry Orrahood, both of Waynesburg; and two brothers, Michael Morris of Waynesburg and Shane A. Morris of Carmichaels. MORRIS - Friends of H. Donovan Morris of Oak Forest, Waynesburg, who died Monday, February 12, 2001, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Behm Funeral Home Inc., 182 West High Street, Waynesburg, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 16, with pastor Ben Williamson officiating.
