Buckingham, 73, of Washington, RD 4 , near Amity, died at 9 PM Saturday, Aug. 12, 1967, in the Greene County Memorial Hospital following a critical illness the past four weeks. He was born Dec. 17, 1893, in Richhill Township near Wind Ridge, a son of Charles E. And Eva Braddock Buckingham. His wife, Merle Geho Buckingham, whom he married April 17, 1927, survives. Mr. Buckingham had lived for several years in the Wind Ridge community and for the past 25 years in Washington County. He retired in 1960 from the Jessop Steele Company, Washington. He was a member of the Amity Methodist Church. Surviving in addition to his wife, Merle Buckingham, is one daughter, Mrs. Robert "Helen" Ankrom, of Waynesburg, one foster son, Pvt. Phillip S. Buckingham, serving with the US Army in Vietnam; three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. One brother, Frank, is deceased. Funeral services were held Wed. With burial in Braddock Cemetery.
