    1. Re: [PAGRE] McClelland/Buckingham
    2. Hi Gordon, I have names, but no dates. William and Elizabeth were my gr-gr-grandparents. I'm in the process of moving and my genealogy is packed away, so I'll have to tell you as best as I can from memory. William A. McClelland was the son of James anad Hannah (Jones) McClelland. They're in the 1850 (or 1860) census for either Center or Jackson Twp in Greene County, but then I lose track of them. Elizabeth Buckingham is the daughter of Bowen and Jane (Oaks) Buckingham. According to the Tenmile History, Bowen died shortly after 1850 in Greene County, but I cannot find him anywhere on the 1850 census. Jane is in Wayne Twp in 1860 living with her children and her mother, Elizabeth (Mason) Oaks. I do not have much information on William and Elizabeth's children, other than my great-grandmother, Dora Belle McClelland who married William Henry Tustin. Any other information that you would have on James Franklin and his sisters, I would greatly appreciate. Let me know if I can be of any more help. Thanks! 2. Roger Hanneman
    3. Hello Vicki & Gordon, I too belong to the Buckingham line which goes back to William Buckingham 1635-aft 14 Dec 1701. Through the years other family members had provided a lot of info to my Mother, Ruth Hanneman & Margaret Cooke. In the late 50s they compiled a typescript (on a LDS film) about The Family of William Buckingham. 10 years ago I began to validate and expand their work. Here is some basic info I have on the line from Wm to Elizabeth: 1 William Buckingham, 1735-1701 2 John Buckingham, 1670-1754 Hannah Brunsden, 1680-87 aft 1726 3 Wm Buckingham, 1701- bef 13 Oct 1789 (my line branches off after here w/4 gen son Wm) Jane James, bef 1708- aft 11 Jan 1790 4 John Buckingham, 11 Nov 1741 - 1 Dec 1794 (note John & bro Wm brought their families to Washington Co) [Their son Wm m Nancy m. Nancy McClelland] Mary Bell, bef 1761 - bet Nov 1801 - Apr 1824 5 Isaac Buckingham, 25 Aug 1777 - 11 Apr 1833 Hannah Heaton, 3 Apr 1778 - 30 Mar 1850 6 Bowen Buckingham, abt 1813 - bef 29 Oct 1855 Jane Oaks, abt 1820 - 22 Feb 1908 7 Maria L. Buckingham, 1851- aft 1 Aug 1915 (2 sons Geo & John, nothing past gen 8) Levi H. McClelland, 1840-1 Aug 1915 (son of Jas & Hannah, bro of Wm below) 7 Elizabeth Buckingham 1852- unk, (3ch, Dora, Martha & Jas, nothing past gen 8) Wm. A. McClelland, 1845-unk (bro of Levi above) 7 Mary Jane Buckingham, 11 Apr 1853-15 Feb 1928 (5 ch, Chas, Blanche, Marie, Wm. & unk, some info on 4 more gen) Thos Wm Jones, 17 Jun 1847-4 Jan 1929 By the 1840 all but a few of the Buckinghams, who prior to the end of the Revolution came from DE to Washington Co, PA, had moved West. One large group (headed by brothers Enoch & Levi) moved near present day Cincinnatti, Ohio before 1800. A few others moved to Ohio and on West to Missouri and Oregon Isaac Buckingham (brother of Enoch & Levi above) and his greater family (my line) left Greene Co in 1832 for Woodford Co, Illinois. Today, there are a few Buckingham names that still show up in Washington & Greene counties. Some are linked others ??? If either of you have any questions I'll try to answer them. If you can fill in the blanks on how you fit in, (directly or within the group), I'd appreciate it.
