Margaret M. Edgar Lewis Waynesburg, Dec. 14, - Mrs. Margaret M. Lewis, aged 70, wife of Jacob H. Lewis, of near Castile, Waynesburg, RD 1, died at 6 AM today in the Greene County Memorial Hospital. She had been in failing health for several months but her condition did not become serious until about two months ago. She had been in the local hospital for the past two weeks. Mrs. Lewis was one of the well known women of the Castile section. She was born near Marianna, in Washington County, on May 27, 1873, a daughter of John and Mary A. Keys Edgar and was Married to Jacob H. Lewis on September 17, 1892, celebrating the golden wedding last year. To this union were born eight children of whom survive. They are Mrs. Florence Iams, Waynesburg; John E. Lewis, Holbrook; Challen W. Lewis, Waynesburg; Paul Lewis, Waynesburg; Mrs. Rachel Sims, Canonsburg; Roy Lewis, Lone Pine; Mrs. Margaret Reed, Pitcairn; and Pfc. Harry Lewis in New Guinea. There are 19 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Two grandsons, are in the service, Charles Iams, machinist mate second class in Norfolk, Va., and Pfc. Reed Lewis, in San Francisco. There also survive the following brothers and sisters; Daniel A. Edgar, Eighty Four; Mrs. Lucy Murray, Washington; W. K. Edgar, Waynesburg, RD 1; John Edgar, Pittsburgh; Mrs. Minnie Reese, Rogersville; Clarence Edgar, Waynesburg, and Herman Edgar, Washington. She was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church and in her younger years was a teacher in the Sunday School. "Note" She is in my tree. The obit has her picture. Laura N.
