P. PHILLIPS W. P. Phillips died at his home on West Elm street Sunday, May 29, aged 70 years. He had been ill for several months and his death was due to a complication of diseases. Mr. Phillips was born in Whiteley township March 7, 1851, being a son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Phillips, deceased. He was well known as a successful farmer and stockraiser but removed from Higbee to Waynesburg 15 years ago. He was a member of the Methodist Protestant church. Besides his wife he is survived by the following children: George A. Phillips, Harvey Phillips and William Phillips, of Waynesburg, Mrs. A. J. Jackson, of Mannington, W. Va., and John Phillips of Cameron, W. Va. Funeral services were held Tuesday conducted by Rev. F. C. Viele. Interment in Oakmont cemetery.
