Around 1865, he migrated to Monroe Co, IA, buying land near Albia. He was the son of Solomon Crabel Hickman b. c1808 and Eliza Cary. He was the grandson of Solomon Hickman b. 10 Nov 1770 and Elizabeth McCombs. He was the gr-grandson of Charles Hickman who died in Fayette Co, PA. I have more information, if you are interested. I am not related to these Hickmans, but have researched all Hickmans of southwest PA late 1700's early 1800's.
