The folks there are not too helpful sometimes so be insistant. (don't mean to disparage anyone but my first visit I went through all the records there and was at a loss til finding the old records section. I found documents critical to my research, 1810-1870 for example, on the Calverts. There are more there but I have not been back east for 2 years and need to visit again. ALSO: Washington County. Greene was formed from Washington and you may need to look at those records if you are looking at early times(Something else I need to do).
