This 1773 thing appears to be copied directly out of the Horn Papers and as such are probably phoney. Did anyone read that 1773 document printed in the latest issue of the Cornerstone Clues? It contains of names and information, but I have never seen it before. In particular the paragraph about Abraham and Robert Hickman is completely new to me. This is the first primary source of those persons living in that area at that time. The only other reference that mentions them at that time period is in Volume 2 of the Horn Papers. Howard Hickman

I'm interested in the six-mile run Dutch Refored Church and the communities of Griggstown, Kingston and Rocky Hill in the late 1700s, located between the current communities of Princetown and New Brunswick. My Peter Dillon was married in this church in 1779 to a dutch lady and had, at least, one child baptised there. Thanks again for this site. Henry S. This is good also. However, posting is not research. If you really want your information, you have to dig for it. Waiting for someone to respond favorably to a post is very hit and miss. Looking through some Family Trees?on ancestry, it shows a lot of them. One in particular indicates that the father of Peter Dillon was a Daniel Dillon b. 1713 in Kilkenny, Ireland and d. 12 Nov 1805. Married Lydia B. The father of Daniel was Luke Dillion b. 1685 m. Susan Garrett.
I haven't really searched in NJ much for info, but here is plan: Have you researched the censuses for the NJ counties you are interested in? Sometimes not all of the family members move. Start with a surname search. If your family is in Greene Co. in 1800, maybe the same family name is still in Somerset Co. in 1800 as well. There may have been tax records before the introduction of the federal census system. Libraries, geneal. gocieties, ancestry, etc. have these. If any were connected to the American Revolution thru the State Militia system, there should be information in the NJ State Archives. For example, they have lists of militia soldiers. Also, the National Archives has information on Revolutionary soldiers. I also exchanged emails with the a member of the public library staff in Somerset Co. who provided information (which unfortunately I already had) regarding my Peter Dillon. But although they won't normally do the research, they are willing to throw out suggestions regarding your research. In my case the staff member was very helpful. Have you considered a query to the county genealogical society of the county you are interested in? Do you have a local LDS FHC available to you? Sometimes they can be very helpful in making suggestions. Finally, do a search of your surnames of interest on WorldConnect data bases at Rootsweb. This is an introduction to a huge data source already established by others. If you know the ethnic background on your families, do some general research in references that describe these groups. I have purchased virtually every prominent reference I can find on the so-called Scots-Irish because I believe they provide information pertinent to my search for my Dillon family. I know none of this is magic. But good luck just the same. Henry S. Dillon ----- Original Message ----- From: J.A.
