Although, if you have Ancestors that may have migrated into West Virginia there is a gold mine of original documents of Birth, Death & Marriage records and certificates at the West Virginia Division of Culture & History web site. The link is below.. http://www.wvculture.org/vrr/va_select.aspx (make sure you bookmark it if you have never visited it before as I can never seem to locate the Birth, Death & Marriage search page from the home page). I love this site and have used it many times. I have been able to document many Ancestors in just a few minutes that would have taken me years of visiting all of the Court Houses. Makes me wonder why other States haven't done this also.. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Porter Reese, owned that farm and it was sold out of the family around 1956. The last Reeses left the area around 1980. I wonder if George Haines bought the land from the estate of my ggg-grandfather, James Reese, who died in 1885 and is buried on the property. Do you know if Mr Haines built the farmhouse? The farm has been in terrible shape in recent years but some new owners have cleaned it up a little. I have some very old pictures if you're interested.
