The 1860 census for Monongalia County, Virginia shows two Susanna's; one age 31 and the other age 10. Both are shown to be daughters of William DIXON. I believe William and two of his children, Nancy and John ended up living in a poorhouse until the time of their deaths. William's son James is the only one I know of that got married and had children. Howard Dixon Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: Kenneth_Sutphin Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.pennsylvania.counties.greene/11124.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I have and Elizabeth Ullom born to Peter Woolum b 1748 d August the first 1848 in Greene county Pennsylvania. Mother was Margaret Smith 24 February 1751 Greene county died May 18 1829 at Franklin, Greene county, Pennsylvania. I am sorry I do not have Elizabeths birth or death dates. Here is some more information on Peter and his family: 4. PETER (WOOLAM)3 ULLOM, SR. (JACOB2 WOOLAM, JACOB1 ULM) was born February 9, 1749 in Berkekey County, VA or New Holland, PA, and died August 1, 1824 in Franklin TWP., Greene Co., PA. He married MARGARET SMITH May 10, 1770 in Frederick County, VA or Greene County, PA. She was born February 4, 1752 in Greene County, PA, and died May 18, 1829 in Franklin TWP., Greene County, PA. Notes for PETER (WOOLAM) ULLOM, SR.: Peter and his Brother Shem, moved to the Ten Mile Country in the section that is now known as Greene County, PA., and were living there when the 1790 Census was taken. Peter had six or seven children at that time and Shem had one boy and two girls. Peter seems to have been the only son of Jacob to change the family name to Ullom; his descendants have used that same ever since. On September 19, 1793, Peter Ullom (spelled then Woollom) bought 98 acres of land from Captain James Hook's puchase of "Hook's Delight." Here he resided until his death. On October 3, 1794, Peter purchased 99 acres of land in the Morgan Township from Patrick Martin and wife Mary. This second puchase of land adjoined that of his Brother Shem. In 1814, Peter and his wife Margaret sold these 99 acres to Daniel Clark. The transaction is recorder in the Washington Co., Deed Book I, pages 88-89. His will was made January 29, 1816, and probated August 24, 1824. He gave his home to his widow, Margaret, after which it was to go to his six named sons. The indications are that Margaret died soon after her husband and on May 18, 1829, these sons sold out to Isaac Ullom. (Greene County Will Book 1. pp. 257.)
