    2. I have HOUSTON / ASHBROOD / FENNELL --------below Leslie's inquiry Hi Cherie, I am the Canadian who was at the Cornerstone Genealogical Society library in Waynesburg a few days ago seeking information on the Houston family. The brick wall I'm trying to break down is the parentage of Simon Ashbrook Houston, born 1822 in Washington County and died 1877 in Richhill Twp, Greene County. I believe he was the son of Isaac and Nancy (Ashbrook) Houston of Washington County, and there is circumstantial evidence to support it, but I cannot find anything that outright says so, much less proves it. Simon's obit does not name his parents. Simon's son James (1855-1904) married Margaret, daughter of John R. and Evaline (Gregory) Supler. After James' death Margaret married my widowed great-grandfather, G.W. Ferrell. I'd be happy to help out if you would like. I need to schedule a time to go there in my research on Richard Dotson, Oct. 23, 1752. He left Va to go to Greene County to serve as an Indian spy under Captain John Minor. Please let me know if you are interested. Naturally they would be paid. My subject matter would be late 1700's to early 1800's. Are there genealogists there who do this sort of work? Thanks.
