After hitting the old brick wall 3 years ago, I am back trying to find my family. Specifically, I am searching for Wladislaus (b. 1875) and Josepha (b. nee Skierska 1877) ZIOLKOWSKI. I believe they immigrated in 1902 with one son (Arthur) and may have had a daughter born in Luzerne County around 1904. I know for a fact that a son (John) was born in January 1907 in Luzerne (Kingston) and baptized at St. Hedwig's by Father Anthony Lipinski. {Witnesses for the baptism (godparents?) were Joannes (John) Bubaez and Maria Michneak. The spellings may be way off--its the best I could read on the certificate.} The ZIOLKOWSKI's livedin Greensburg in Westmoreland County for some time and lived in Sewickly Township, Westmoreland County during the 1920 census (spelling changed to ZIULKOWSKY. Parents stated as Aliens with 5 children all born in Pennsylvania). Eventually they moved to Detroit, MI (city directories list the family starting in 1929). The last name was changed to ZULCOSKY sometime before 1929. This will get me started with my father's paternal side. (Maternal side names include SEBEK {Bohemian-Lutherans} and BAIRD in the vicinity of Jeannette, PA---but thats another day of study!). I am trying desperately to backtrack where they immigrated from (country/city of origin besides just Poland), on what ship, at what port, and on what date in 1902. If anyone has information (city directories, official records, family members, etc.), Please let me know so I can get started again. : ) Thanks so much Denise in Michigan RESEARCHING: BEL: Coppiellie, Coppillie, Coupillie, Desmet, Vanhouteghen, Vanhottenghan, Vanbeveren, Pylyser, Goutsmit,Bedert, Missu, Taillient, Leon, Lioen, Lyoen, Pleis, Plifelder, Ignion, Martens, Vandeputte, Begen POL: Ziolkowski, Zulcosky, Skierska, Baird, Sebak, Sebek, Zill, Ciuba, Porado ITA: Lafata, Vitale, Carlodio GER: Brengmann, Brengman
