    3. Dear List, I am new to this list and this is my first post. I have good reason to believe that my immigrant ancestor Andrew Prok/Prock came first to Pennsylvania before settling in the coal region of Ohio. He came about 1893 from the Austria-Hungary Empire. They listed their ethnicity as Hungarian but my g grandfather always refered to himself as a Slovak. They were coal miners which leads me to my the question, were there any slovak mining communities in Pennsylvania in the late 1800's and early 1900's? This would give me a clue as to where to start looking. Thank you in advance for your help. Kent Elam

    3. Kent, I don't know about the Slovak but I do know that SW PA was loaded with miners. Especially Fayette and Washington Cos. Good luck. meg "Kent A.
