I am a new subscriber to the Pa. genealogy list. I'm researching a Swedish immigrant family that arrived in Pa., in 1872 and resided in Tinicum until about 1879. They had three children born in Tinicum during those years. What would have been the attraction to immigrants to Tinicum during this time in history? I believe my ancestor was a black smith when he left Sweden. Were there any state census performed between 1872-79? Would there have been any Lutheran Churches in existence during those years, where I could attempt to obtain the family records? Thank you. Sharon in Mn.
