He [John Michael Addleman] worked at the shoemaker's trade in Philadelphia until the debt was paid, after which he engaged in agricultural pursuits in Chester county, Pennsylvania, throughout the remaineder of his life. Hise second son, JOSEPH ADDLEMAN, was the grandfather of our subject. He married SARAH PIERCE and to them were born ten children. In 1826 his sons, JOHN M., and CALEB, accompanied by their sister ORPHA, came to Wayne county, Indiana, and in 1828 the father brought the remainder of the family. He located in Franklin township, where he spent the residue of his life, devoting his energies to the work of the farm. He was a large, robust man, and was almost ninety years of age at the time of his death. . . ."1 ". . .JOSEPH settled in what is known as the Addleman farm in Franklin Township. which is now owned by our subject.
