Am currently on several NYS lists and am sending this out as a test for more research avenues. Trying to locate an individual who came to this country from Germany in 1844 (he would have been about 4 yrs. old) He served and was injured in the Civil War and later ended up in upstate New York. He might be listed as living with an Aunt in Philadelphia in the 1850 Census, with Mary Heilman (&family?) in the 1850 census on 428 Walnut W. Would this give any clues? After this Aunt died, he might be found in the Pittsburgh area (not sure how he got there though at this point) which is where he enlisted in the war -- with documented info. Would love to hear if anyone is able to find this dear man! colleen wheeler Seating: HILLMAN, RIDLEY, RYAN, SULLIVAN. etal.......
