Bill, I have to agree with you. I don't think folks have any idea how costly it is to maintain a website - not just the server space, but all the other incidentals that go along with it. Ancestry's program is one of the few genealogy based affilliate programs out there and about the only way any of us will probably ever recoup a small fraction of what we're spending. Also, I don't own Olive Tree, either, so this is also just my opinion. There's too many folks out there expecting "free" genealogy without banners or affiliate programs. I've heard it referred to as "complaining while they're standing in line at the free genealogy soup kitchen"..... Just my opinion.
