    3. I'm in a real fix! I have an Ambrosius Heller and Johanna Klaus (husband/wife) who were born in PA abt. 1847-1850. I do not know what county or their parents' names. They may be in the 1850 census. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what to do next? They were also married in PA maybe abt. 1867. Also, can someone tell me what county Hellertown is in? And, any other info on Hellertown? Much appreciation. Margaret in Colorado mb329@msn.comGet more from the Web. FREE MSN Explorer download : http://explorer.msn.com

    2. dcurtiss
    3. hi all and sorry for bringing this up again I personally don't agree or disagree with someone putting a joke on once in awhile. and am not mad at anyone for this one. accidents happen, I just don't have time for them I will be leaving the list I drive for a living (which is my choice) and only get home about 4 days a month.,I have drove more than 26000 miles since Jan 1. in the past 2 1/2 weeks I have been through PA 8 times. my way to relax is family history or genealogy. about the first of the year I had a major putor crash and lost everything so now I spend my free time putting all the pieces back together again. thanks for all the help from everyone. best wishes to all and hope everyone finds at least 1 missing piece to their puzzle this year Dan dcurtiss@austin.rr.com

    1. Found: Higgs Family Bible
    2. Subj: [ENG-SHROP] Strange look up request Date: 2/8/02 2:24:38 PM !!!First Boot!!! From:    Amonetone@aol.com To:    ENG-SHROPSHIRE-PLUS-L@rootsweb.com I work in a charity shop and we’ve been given a very old family bible that I’ d like to return to family members. I'm currently emailing all and sundry about it! The name inside the front cover, to whom I believe the bible belonged, is Sarah Ann HIGGS. Her address is given as 26 Richard Street, Leicester (England). It’s a handwritten notation dated 1866. In the births section, the following is also handwritten: Sarah Ann HIGGS, born June 11 1841. Margaret Ann HIGGS, Born 23 July 1846. It’s a Cassell’s Illustrated Family Bible, very big and absolutely beautiful, still in it’s original cover. There is another handwritten notation further in the book but the only words I can read are the surname HIGGS and possibly a date or price. Could somebody look these ladies or their address up on any census they might have?  It might help to track descendants down. Many thanks! Linda Derham Listowner

Is this my Frank or another? Is there anyone who can do an obit look-up? I do not know much about Frank. Just first and last name and that he was married to Myrtle Wynn in 1901. Anybody have any clues, other than SSDI. Thanks, Robin robindilley@prodigy.net

    2. People DO make mistakes. That IS why erasers were put on pencils. I don't think it was something to throw hissy-fits, stamp your feet and whine "Unsubscribe me NOW" about. I thought the joke was pretty funny and passed it on.

    3. Hi All, I'm still in, and thought the joke was funny. Renee don't be so hard on yourself, if people are offended so easily that's a shame! While I'm sending to the group, maybe someone can help me with a gen problem. I am having a real tough time on my Laird family that moved to Allegheny county around 1910 & Chevreux family 1885. I can't find any record's on them. Does anyone have access to directories or real-estate records? Any suggestions? Have a great day! 3. Dear Renee' Isn't it incredible how much foolishness can come from one little finger spasm?? Don't let the turkeys get you down. There is no one who hasn't made a mistake at one time or another. The vast majority of your fellow listmembers were not offended and are fully supportive. Your apology was fine; I'd probably have just told the fussbudgets to smooch my rusty-dusty! 'Nuff said! 1. GENEALOGY HERE IS SOME....OBIT
    2. SandysSerchin'
    3. I WILL PROVE THERE IS GENEALOGY ON THIS LIST, I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR MY AUNT WHO WAS BORN IN PA HER SISTER MARY BORN IN CORNWALL ENGLAND. HOWEVER HER PARENTS RETURNED TO ENGLAND AND GAVE BIRTH TO HER BROTHER RICHARD AND RETURNED TO AMERICA TO HAVE THEIR NEXT DAUGHTER EMILY IN WI. I WOULD GIVE ANYTHING JUST TO HAVE HER LISTED SOMEWHERE ELSE THAN CENSUS TO EXPLAIN THIS BACK AND FORTH THING. A VOLUNTEER FOUND THIS OBIT FOR ME AND SENT IT TO ME TODAY. THIS IS AN AMAZING STORY! . I did find it today. It was on the front page of the paper! It reads as follows: "Mrs. Crow, wife of John Crow, died on Wednesday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ralph Gill, one mile north of Merrill, after an illness of two weeks. Mrs. Crow caught cold attending the funeral of a grandchild about two weeks ago and an attack of grip followed, supplemented by erysipelas and inflammation rheumatism which went to her heart. Mrs. Crow was sixty-two years old last November. Her death is a sad blow to her husband and children. Mr. and Mrs. Crow, who have resided on South Avenue in this city for the past three years, were making preparations to move to Merrill where they recently purchased property to make their home. They have acquired a competency by long and honorable toil and were planning to retire and enjoy a well earned rest and pass their declining days in peace and comfort when death struck down the wife and mother. Mrs. Crow was born in Pennsylvania, of English parents and when a girl crossed the ocean twice with her parents who finally returned to America to make their home. Her maiden name was Lizzie A. Faull, and she was united in marriage with John Crow at Muscalunge, Wisconsin, in 1868. Two years later Mr. Crow came to Plymouth county and homesteaded and in the following spring he and his wife took up their residence on the homestead three miles northeast of Merrill and lived there for many years. Three children, with the bereaved husband survive. They are Mrs. Marie Gill and Mrs. Shirbon of Merrill and Bernard Crow who is weighmaster at the Sioux City stock yards. The funeral was held on Thursday afternoon at the Methodist church in Merrill and the interment was made in the cemetery at Broken Kettle where lie the remains of her mother, a brother and brother-in-law." I'm not sure if that "Mrs. Shirbon" is right. That's what it looks like to me, but sometimes it's hard to tell. It never fails....whether it's my own family or someone elses, I'm always fascinated to think of the stories behind the people. Sounds like they would have had a lot of them!
