Bedford County Courthouse is a great place to research. I suggest that you write to the Clerk of the Court and ask if they will send you printouts of the Estates and Deeds for the surname "HALL". From there you can order these documents and learn a great deal about your families. Estates - Wills etc can give you a lot of information. However, the Deed Records are a wonderful source of relationships and information also. When you write, ask for their prices also. The other thing that you can do, if you live near a family history center is to order the microfilm for Bedford County Deed Indexes. The same with Wills & Estates. I print out the Indexes for the surnames I researching, go home and enter them into Excel. I then sort the index by Book and Page number. After that, I order film and am able to copy all the documents that are on each roll of film that pertain to the surname I am researching. I know it sounds like a lot of work, but in reality it save you a lot of time. Good luck. meg charlie wrote: > Am searching info on Jacob Hall b.abt 1810 in Bedford Co. You can go to this web site to download the forms you will need for Conn. http://www.vitalrec.com On the 1900 New Haven, Conn. census he was 72 and married to Harriet and son George living with him. He was born in Pa as was his father. Mother was born in Mass. Philadelphia, Adams, Lancaster, Montgomery, Juniata, York, Washington, Perry, Northhampton, Westmoreland, Schuylkill, Clearfield, Venango, Northumberland, Berks, Mifflin, Bucks, Lebanon, Tioga, Snyder, Columbia and Wayne. This is per roots web and other research I have done. My gg grandfather, Victor A. King, born 10/8/1827 always referred to his birthplace as Mt. Pleasant PA - it's on all of his paperwork. So, the Mt. Pleasant I'm looking for would have had to have been a significant township. I am looking for his parents. Lynda. I'm just curious, why would it have to have been a significant Twp. as compared to an insignificant one? ; ) Renee

Where would I look for information on someone who died in Philadelphia in the 1920's? I don't know the exact year and I know SS death index doesn't go that far back. I am looking for the death of Lauretta Daderio (maiden name Crisci). She would have died in the early 1920's. Thanks, Laura
Does anyone have the address or website to send for marriage records in Elkton, MD? I understand that many people who were too young to marry in Philly went there instead. It would have been around 1933. Thanks, Laura
I am looking for information on who to contact about children who were sent to foster homes in the 1920's in Philadelphia. I know that one child was sent to the Salvation Army and that the other 2 were sent to live with other families in the Philadelphia area. Does anyone know where these records would be and how I may aquire them? Thanks, Laura

Thankyou again to those who have already helped me. My g grandfather was John Bryning, born in Wolverhampton in 1851. He had a brother, James, and I have in front of me an undated (mid Victorian?) photograph showing James and wife (possibly Belle), sister and her nieces, outside his (James') home in Philadelphia. If anyone can give me more information about any of these people and their descendants (and, indeed their ancestors in England) I should be very interested to hear from them (or, indeed, if anyone can suggest other ways of finding out about them). I'm looking for the parents of my great great grandfather, Victor A. King, born 10/8/1827 in Mt. Pleasant, PA. Which Mt. Pleasant? I do not know. He went on to marry Harriet Churchill McQuivey of Springfield, MA and I have that lineage. He spent his adult life in MA and mostly in New Haven and West Haven, CT. He was once Superintendent of Winchester Arms and may also be a brother or first cousin to a Nelson King who held the same title at Winchester just prior to Victor. I have all the information on Victor's, children and down the line. What I need are his parents. Can anyone help?? Thank you. PS: I have spent a bit of time searching in Bucks Co. as someone steered me in that direction, but I'm now beginning to think that's not the right county. Lynda K. Wade lwade@twcny.rr.com Michael J.
