    1. Germans in PA 18th Century
    2. Roger Kennedy
    3. Hi Everyone, My final uploads for the month of September include 4 new databases to my site, Awesome Genealogy. Two are genealogical data from newspapers relating to the German settlers of Pennsylvania and adjacent territory, from the years 1745 and 1746. While some of the accounts are brief, some are rather heart-wrenching pleas of family who were split by being indentured, and were trying to reunite. Very valuable information is included in some. The other two are Oaths of Allegiance taken by Palatines in 1728 in the state of Pennsylvania. These are excellent ways of finding that elusive male ancestor! You can find these, and my other free databases I've added here: http://www.awesomegenealogy.com/newstuff.shtml Good luck in your research, Roger http://www.awesomegenealogy.com --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? 1. new lister - searching JOSEPH JACOB HILLMAN-PENNSYLVANIA
    2. Am currently on several NYS lists and am sending this out as a test for more research avenues. Trying to locate an individual who came to this country from Germany in 1844 (he would have been about 4 yrs. old) He served and was injured in the Civil War and later ended up in upstate New York. He might be listed as living with an Aunt in Philadelphia in the 1850 Census, with Mary Heilman (&family?) in the 1850 census on 428 Walnut W.  Would this give any clues? After this Aunt died, he might be found in the Pittsburgh area (not sure how he got there though at this point) which is where he enlisted in the war -- with documented info. Would love to hear if anyone is able to find this dear man! colleen wheeler Seating: HILLMAN, RIDLEY, RYAN, SULLIVAN. etal.......

    1. The Center for Waring Family History
    2. Hi everyone. I have put together on Smartgroups.com a private group called "The Center for Waring Family History". It is an interactive site where everyone is encouraged to contribute. We all have a brick wall somewhere in the Waring family tree and the only way we are going to break down those walls is to share our information. When you are interested in doing the same for your other family names Smartgroups will be there to help. Perhaps you can put together your own group. Please take a look and let me know what you think. Sincerely, Renee L. I could do with some help if it's possible. A group of us in the village of Kinlet, Shropshire are putting together a book on the history of Kinlet. From our research we know that there were American soldiers based in a camp in the village. What we would like is to find some of the G.I's who were stationed here and ask for their memories of Kinlet. Is this too big a job? Is there anyone on list who could give any advice on how we could do this. Would it just be too much of a coincidence for one of those G.I's to be reading this? Thanks in anticipation of your help.
